SUMMARY:Data-Driven Circularity: AI-Powered Innovations Redefining Product Reuse
DESCRIPTION:Australians are embracing digital transformation at a rapid pace—yet the potential for artificial intelligence to reshape how we use\, reuse\, and recover everyday products is only just beginning to be realised. From construction materials and consumer goods to waste management and logistics\, AI is unlocking smarter\, more circular systems. \nThis webinar will explore how data-driven technologies are transforming the circular economy. We’ll look at how AI can improve product tracking\, enable reuse and repair at scale\, and optimise recovery pathways—extending product lifecycles and reducing waste. By connecting digital intelligence with physical systems\, new opportunities are emerging to redesign supply chains and accelerate the shift from linear to circular. \nJoin us as we showcase real-world examples where AI is driving measurable change—whether through advanced data platforms\, agent-based prototyping\, or city-wide waste optimisation. You’ll gain practical insights into how artificial intelligence can be applied to create more resilient\, resource-efficient systems and leave with a clearer view of how digital innovation can power circularity at scale. \nSpeakers\nDanling Xiao\, ReCo Digital\nDanling is the co-founder of ReCo Digital\, a startup dedicated to accelerating the transition to a circular economy through AI-powered platforms. She leads the company’s vision to harness digital intelligence for smarter systems of reuse and recovery. Her approach combines rapid prototyping with circular design thinking\, enabling businesses and communities to reimagine product lifecycles and adopt scalable circular solutions. \nHauke Humpel\, ReCo Digital\nHauke is an AI Engineer at ReCo Digital\, specialising in the development and deployment of advanced AI models for circularity. His expertise spans agent-based systems and data optimisation\, providing the technical backbone that enables ReCo to test\, refine and implement intelligent solutions. Hauke’s work ensures that AI is not just theoretical but practical—delivering tools that make reuse and recovery more efficient and effective. \nSimon Kalinowski\, Mandalay Technologies\nSimon is the CEO of Mandalay Technologies\, a leading provider of software solutions for the waste and resource recovery sector. With over two decades of experience\, he has championed the use of data to transform how councils\, governments and organisations manage waste. Mandalay’s platforms give decision-makers the intelligence to improve diversion rates\, reduce landfill\, and design smarter waste strategies. Simon’s leadership lies in bridging technology and policy to deliver practical\, scalable solutions that support circular outcomes. \nAbout Boomerang Labs\n\nBoomerang Labs is Australia’s first Circular Economy Accelerator. In addition to our hands-on programs for circular startups\, Boomerang Labs is an Innovation Exchange; a hub connecting companies\, government bodies and other organisations with founders and innovators to tackle challenges of design\, resource use and resource recovery in their organisations and supply chains. \nDo you have a topic you’d like us to cover in a future webinar? Let us know via email. \nPlease Note: Boomerang Labs webinars are recorded and shared via our social media\, website and youtube.
