DESCRIPTION:Logan Office of Economic Development (LOED) has partnered with Griffith University Tax Clinic and Small Business Financial Counselling Service to present you with this workshop. \nCommencing a business is difficult with many decisions required to be made. This workshop will explain: \nthe basic premise of the different business structures\nthe ideas behind what is business income\, and\nwhat expenses are likely to be deductible. \nAbout the presenter:\nDr Melissa Belle Isle\nDr Melissa Belle Isle is a lecturer in taxation law. Melissa’s research focuses on Australian small business cash flow concerns due to taxation and owner literacy. \nMelissa is also passionate about improving the tax literacy of Australians and regularly delivers learning opportunities to community groups to assist with increases in literacy. Melissa is co-director of the Griffith Tax Clinic. \nThe Griffith Tax Clinic provides a free tax advisory service to unrepresented taxpayers and allows Griffith students to further their skills to be work ready once completing their studies. \nAdditional information\nTime: 9-11 am\, Friday\, 19th May 2023 \nLocation: Logan City Council\, 150 Wembley Road\, Logan Central. \nCheck-in: Please check in at Information Desk at entry.
