We’re so excited to be standing here on the Meadowbrook Private Hospital site. Australian Unity is just thrilled to be able to partner with Dr Harry Pannu and Matilda Health Care in regard to the planning for the new private hospital and situated here right across the road from the Logan Public Hospital. We’ve had multiple conversations with leading practitioners in the area, and the message that we’ve been receiving loud and clear is that there is an under supply of really high-class private health care accommodation in the area. We at Australian Unity together with Matilda Health Care feel that we can bridge that gap and provide that accommodation.
We are planning in the first stage of development a private hospital that can have up to 9 theatres, up to 68 in-patient beds, imaging, pathology and specialist consulting suites. Beyond the first stage of development, we have an opportunity to rapidly grow the provision of accommodation for
private health services here at Meadowbrook, we can add additional theatres additional beds and additional private consulting suites

If we look at Brisbane south and the Logan area, we know that currently, the population is about 350,000 people and in the next 10 years that’s probably going to grow up to about 500, 000 people. That is practically a big city on itself and at this point in time there’s a huge unmet demand for private health care and health care in general where patients are actually travelling out congesting the roads all the way back up north, and the ability to put a private hospital in this area with world-class facilities and world-class health care at the centre of excellence will serve the community in here now and in the
next 10 years and the future generations. This is a great growth journey for Matilda Health Care, coming into Meadowbrook with the growth trajectory in this area and the demand for health care services, it is extremely significant for Matilda now to come up to Queensland and provide the service
that we’re already well renowned to provide through our subsidiaries and our partners in Arcadia Healthcare as well, so we’re really looking forward to this project.

What sets the part as a private developer, is the opportunity to develop and hold for the longer term which in turn benefits our investors and also our tenant partners as well. With all of our tenant partners, we have a long-term relationship it needs to be a win-win for for both, we see this opportunity is to be able to work with Matilda Health over the longer term to establish you know not only surgical but also rehabilitation and mental health services as well.
For the community of Meadowbrook the opportunity for our investors is the long-term income stream that will be generated by the buildings that we fund
in the Meadowbrook Health Hub and the opportunity for long-term capital growth.
