DESCRIPTION:Come and learn more about how you can get involved in the LGCFR project. The event will provide you with information regarding procurement. \nYou are invited to a First Nations business event to find out how you can get involved in the LGC project. \nHosted by the Queensland Government\, the LGC First Nations Business Event will bring together the LGC project team and Indigenous businesses and suppliers to find out more about procurement opportunities. It will also provide a platform to connect with services that support businesses to access these opportunities and grow their capabilities. \nAligned with national and state priorities such as the Closing the Gap Initiative and promoting supplier diversity\, the event delivers both economic and social benefits to the broader community. Representatives include support organisations\, and key industry stakeholders\, including Department of Transport and Main Roads\, ActivUs Alliance\, Martinus Degnan Joint Venture and Bielby Hull Joint Venture to engage in meaningful discussions\, share knowledge\, and explore opportunities for collaboration. \nActivities will include:\nLGC project team – TMR\nAn overview of the LGC project\, Social Outcomes and Local Benefits and general procurement requirements\, and introduction of the contractors. \nContractor presentation – ActivUs Alliance\nRail Package overview and opportunities \nFirst Nations’ Supplier – Success/Learnings\nWorld Café ‘Networking’\nBreak-out sessions\n\nProcurement\nProject requirements – Felix\nSub-Contract Connections and Joint Ventures\nWork Packages\n\nQ&A session\nInvite previous speakers back on stage to answer questions \nKey highlights of the event include:\n\nShowcasing Support Services: Highlighting programs and services designed to strengthen First Nations businesses\nKnowledge Sharing and Networking: Facilitating discussions and partnerships between business\, employers and support organisations to enhance First Nations employment outcomes.\n\nThis initiative underscores a commitment to fostering economic growth\, supporting culturally inclusive practices\, and contributing to long-term community and business development. \nLocation – 2 Wineglass Drive (located next to Meals on Wheels at the back of precinct) Hillcrest\, QLD 4118 \n\n
