SUMMARY:Australian Industry Capability Practitioner Course 2026
DESCRIPTION:The Australian Industry Capability (AIC) Practitioner course aims to foster a broad understanding of AIC requirements across Defence and Defence Industry personnel. Bringing together professionals from both sectors\, the course seeks to promote knowledge exchange and collaboration\, enhancing the implementation of the AIC Program. \nParticipants will gain valuable insights into Defence Industry Policy\, including how AIC is implemented and applied through the Australian Standard for Defence Contracting (ASDEFCON) framework. The course content has been designed to provide a detailed understanding of the AIC Program and equip participants with the necessary tools and knowledge to effectively implement and manage AIC components during the procurement and contract management phases. \nThe course is delivered via a 2 day instructor led program which aims to create a balanced and collaborative environment. The course is available at various locations across Australia\, and virtual course options are also available. \nLearning outcomes\nParticipants will be able to: \n\nUnderstand the AIC framework and its role in supporting Defence capability objectives and sovereign industry priorities.\nInterpret AIC requirements across acquisition and sustainment phases\, including obligations on industry suppliers.\nNavigate Defence structures and processes\, including oversight\, assurance\, and reporting mechanisms.\nRecognise how Defence industry businesses operate\, from major primes to small to medium enterprise \, and how they contribute to Defence capability delivery.\nStrengthen stakeholder relationships across Defence\, government\, and industry through shared understanding and common language.\nApply practical tools\, templates\, and methodologies to create\, manage\, and review AIC documentation and supplier reporting.\n\nEnrolment\nEnrolment is via Learn eXcel Perform (LXP): Global. \n\nVisit  LXP: Global to create an account.\nOn the account creation page\, under ‘Enter your Sponsor details’.\n\nEnter ‘aic.training@defence.gov.au‘ for sponsor email address.\nLeave sponsor phone number and full name blank.\n\n\n\nTo enrol use your registered LXP: Global account to log in and visit AIC Practitioner Course.
