Melissa’s research focuses on Australian small business cash flow concerns due to taxation and owner literacy. \nMelissa is also passionate about improving the tax literacy of Australians and regularly delivers learning opportunities to community groups to assist with increases in literacy. SUMMARY:Circular Design and Innovation: Empowering the Commercial Transition ahead of Climate Action Week
DESCRIPTION:Businesses are consuming more resources than ever — yet waste\, inefficiency and lost value remain built into how many products and systems are designed. As pressure mounts from climate targets\, procurement expectations and rising costs\, circular design is no longer a niche sustainability concept\, but a commercial imperative. \nThis webinar explores how circular thinking can be applied across design\, materials and business models to unlock efficiency\, reduce waste and create long-term value. From early design decisions through to production\, use and end-of-life\, the session will unpack how designers and businesses can move beyond linear approaches and embed circular principles in ways that are practical\, scalable and commercially viable. \nJoin us for a grounded\, real-world discussion featuring practitioners working at the intersection of innovation\, design and sustainability. Through case studies\, lived experience and panel discussion\, speakers will share what’s working\, what’s challenging\, and where the biggest opportunities lie for organisations ready to transition from intention to action. \nSpeakers\nAdam Norris – Founder & Design Principal\, Annular Design\nAdam Norris is the Founder and Design Principal of Annular Design\, a Melbourne-based consultancy specialising in innovation\, design and sustainability. With a strong focus on circular economy principles\, Adam works with organisations to rethink products\, services and systems to reduce waste and improve performance. Known for his practical\, problem-solving approach\, Adam brings a commercial lens to circular design—helping businesses turn sustainability ambition into measurable outcomes. \nSteve Baty – CEO\, Meld Collective\nMeld Collective is a Strategic Design consultancy working to enhance our public domain. I have extensive experience in the design of public infrastructure and am currently authoring a new book which tackles the topic of material intensity in the delivery of fundamental human needs in developed economies.
