Residential Activation Fund to unlock a further 8,250 new homes in Logan
A further 8,250 new homes will be unlocked in Logan with critical infrastructure projects set to be fast-tracked under the Queensland Government’s landmark $2 billion Residential Activation Fund.
Funding under the Residential Activation Fund (RAF) will support the construction of two critical infrastructure projects in Logan which will unlock 8,250 new homes.
The Residential Activation Fund will deliver a $20 million boost towards a $61.3 million development in the Flagstone Priority Development Area (PDA) which is set to unlock 3,350 new homes.
The Fund will also deliver a $10 million boost towards the $20 million Yarrabilba Dollarbird Drive Intersection which is set to unlock 4,900 new homes in the Yarrabilba PDA.
The announcement comes just months after the Deputy Premier Jarrod Bleijie and Logan City Council Mayor Jon Raven announced the first RAF project which delivered $136 million towards a critical wastewater treatment plant to unlock more than 20,000 new homes as part of Logan’s Local Infrastructure Plan.
Logan City Council Mayor Jon Raven said these Dollarbird Drive upgrades have been a long time coming.
“While they’ll unlock housing, they’ll also provide a vital second exit for everyone in Yarrabilba,” Mayor Raven said.
“Logan is an amazing place to raise a family so I know there will be many more people moving to our city to enjoy the great lifestyle, community spirit and affordable homes we have available.”
Works will begin this year on the intersection that will enable a second access point to the Stockland Yarrabilba community, with completion expected by mid-2027.
The $20 million connection, supported by $10 million in State Government Residential Activation Fund (RAF) funding and $10 million from Stockland, will provide a new intersection on Waterford-Tamborine Road and provide the additional access into the community via Jimbillunga Drive.
