PErforM: Steps to building a safer, more productive workplace

How simple workplace changes can reduce manual injury risks

Hazardous manual tasks remain one of the leading causes of workplace injuries in Australia, resulting insignificant workers’ compensation costs, lost productivity and long-term musculoskeletal disorders. Join our free webinar on how simple workplace changes can significantly reduce injury risks while improving productivity and employee engagement.

Workplace Health and Safety Queensland (WHSQ) Ergonomics Advisor Don Sendanayake will explain the Participative Ergonomics for Manual Tasks (PErforM) program – a compliant, practical and evidence-based approach to managing manual task risks.

Rather than relying solely on managers or external specialists, PErforM involves the people who perform the work every day in identifying hazards, assessing risks and developing practical solutions that improve both safety and efficiency. The PErforM approach has been successfully applied across a range of industries, including manufacturing, construction, mining, warehousing, food processing and aged care.

The webinar will cover:

  • The PErforM approach to managing hazardous manual tasks
  • How worker participation leads to better safety outcomes
  • Your WHS obligations for hazardous manual tasks
  • Practical ways to reduce injury risks and improve productivity
