Logan development data shows approvals and construction resilient in tough economic conditions

New housing developments at Logan Reserve and Park Ridge

Logan’s latest City Pulse data has been released, providing investors, developers and businesses with an up-to-date picture of one of South East Queensland’s fastest-growing economies.

The updated figures show that Logan added 3,618 new residential dwellings to the city’s housing stock in 2025/26, which is slightly higher than in 2024/25.

ShapingSEQ 2023 targets state that the City of Logan is required to accommodate an additional 110,200 dwellings from 2021 to 2046. By June 2025, 140,967 residential dwellings were recorded in Logan with a growth of 15,267 dwellings from 2021. Based on these updated figures, Logan is required to facilitate approximately 4,521 dwellings per year.

Building Completions show new additions to the city in 2025/26

The main housing stock continues to be stand alone houses (83%). While 67 townhouses/duplexes were completed, no units were added.

Construction value of new dwellings exceeded $1.8 billion.

  3. Park Ridge – 4,326
  4. Greenbank – 3,806

Construction value of non-residential building completions was $306 million, with 154,137 m² new Gross Floor Area.

Warehouse, Distribution and Logistics continues to be the main sector for non-residential development with 76,315 m² in new Gross Floor Area, followed by Sport, Tourism and Recreation with 57,871 m².

Development Approvals show pipeline is strong

Approvals for residential development outside of the Priority Development Areas is increasing, with a notable increase in Duplex/Townhouse developments

Please note: Most stand-alone houses, houses with auxiliary units and secondary dwellings do not require a development application, therefore the number of new dwellings in this section do not account for all new dwelling stock.

Development Approvals in 2025/26 for non-residential development include 41 new lots and 412,945m² new Gross Floor Area.
